Hi! I'm Varshini, an upcoming third year at Northeastern University with a passion for the arts. My love for art started when I was very young, and fell into many forms. When I was only three years old, I remember picking up a pencil and falling in love with doodling. My favorite subjects were of people such as myself and my friends. That is what enticed me. The materials I often used were pencils and paints, however, as a Computer Science and Design major, I would love to go into graphic design to aid with front end and web development.
As for dance, I started my first Bharatanatyam class as a five year old burst of energy. I planned to have my Arangetram in June of 2021; it was pushed back a year due to the pressures of Covid-19. In place of the Arangetram, I had a dance fundraiser in October of 2020 and raised over $2000 for Save the Children! I used to think dance was just about looking cool or being competitive, but in reality, it's a peaceful, spiritual activity that carries on with you for a lifetime. Dance has taught me how to express myself from a physical standpoint as well as many life lessons, the most impactful being the importance of resilience. I now hold these values as I traverse new passions such as weightlifting, being a leader in many Blockchain clubs at Northeastern, and finding work I am passionate about. Throughout my whole life, my artistic talents have been a main focus, and they defined my creativity, imagination, and passion for design later on. I hope to be an upcoming front end developer and pursue my love of art through innovation on bigger levels and with a technology background. I truly believe art makes a lasting impact in society, but more importantly, it holds a special place in all of us. |
